Meet Stella
Stella is just like any other 17 year old. She’s good at school, has a love for all things books, enjoys playing footy, laughing with mates and loves her kitten more than some of her family…
But unfortunately for Stella, she doesn’t get to live like any other 17 year old. Three years ago, she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, a crippling degenerative condition with no known cure.
Stella is a soldier, a fighter, truly the bravest person I know. She doesn’t want any special recognition, sympathy or special treatment, just a greater awareness around her condition.
My dream
What Stella has taught me, without even realising it, is how grateful I should be every day for my body. I am able to get up whenever I like, never worrying about movement, pain, stiffness or swelling.
This October, i’m going to push my limits, in honour of Stella. I will be running 150 kilometres in a single day, in the hopes of showing people just how amazing our bodies are, and to never take what we have for granted.
Every dollar raised will support the research and treatment of those living their lives with Arthritis.
